Edward Bassford is a retail leasing and sales specialist at Sun Commercial Real Estate Inc. Mr. Bassford has over 38 years experience in all aspects of commercial real estate with the last 34 years in the Las Vegas market. He worked in a locally owned and operated development company for several years before becoming a leasing executive with Weingarten Realty Investors, a Real Estate Investment Trust. He also served as Corporate Broker for both College Park Realty and Investment Equity Development Company and as a real estate consultant for Howard Hughes Corporation.
Mr. Bassford has been responsible for leasing and sales of over 6 million square feet of retail and freestanding buildings. Mr. Bassford participated in the development and implementation of marketing programs for the disposition of 500+ acres and 12,000+ acres land portfolios with a combined value in excess of 175 million. He assisted in the planning and monitoring of numerous commercial construction projects including new construction, remodels, and tenant improvements. He sold commercial and resort land in excess of $50 million and has acted as consultant on a multitude of projects from developing workout agreements with financially troubled developers to preparing market studies and feasibility reports for property acquisition and disposition.
Mr. Bassford was a 1st Lieutenant Airborne Radar Intercept Officer in F-4 Phantom Fighters for the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Bassford graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin, earning a Bachelors of Business Administration, majoring in real estate and finance. He has attended all courses required for the CCIM designation plus numerous other continuing education real estate courses.
