With 25 years experience in the golf industry, Kathy Bissell has specialized knowledge in many golf arenas including golf course sales, golf writing, golf television production and golf public relations.
Bissell's family has been in real estate for more than 50 years, and she was a broker in Illinois in her father's office immediately after college. However, she transitioned to other areas of interest which she pursued for many years.
Bissell has produced over 250 nationally-syndicated, golf television programs as well as a dozen high goal polo matches.
She was VP Public Relations for a prestigious golf development and ownership company with top-rated, nationally-prominent, championship courses that hosted PGA Tour, USGA, PGA of America and LPGA events including The Bob Hope Classic, The Kraft Nabisco Championship, The PGA Championship, The Ryder Cup, The Skins Game, The Senior Skins Game, The Grand Slam, The Chrysler Team Championship, The Spalding Invitational and numerous PGA Tour Qualifying Schools. Included in the courses were the PGA West complex (including The Stadium Golf Course, Arnold Palmer Private Course, The Nicklaus Private Course and The Nicklaus Resort Course), Mission Hills Country Club ( Including The Dinah Shore Tournament Course), Oak Tree Golf Club and Oak Tree Country Club, Palm Beach Polo and Country Club and The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island to name just a few. She was also instrumental in the company's national branding program.
Bissell has written three books, Fred Couples: Golf’s Reluctant Superstar and Venus on The Fairway (co-authored with former LPGA player Debbie Meisterlin Keller) and Championship Swimming, (co-authored with Olympian Tracey McFarlane Mirande).
She has been a consultant for the World Golf Hall of Fame, developing the current exhibit plan for the Museum, proposing the Locker Room permanent display for inductees, and working on displays for a number of inductees including those for Ben Crenshaw, Bernhard Langer, Tony Jacklin, Tommy Bolt, Harvey Penick, and Nick Price. She also worked on special exhibits to honor the careers of Ben Hogan and Byron Nelson.
Bissell has written more than 800 on-line articles with more than a million reads, has written hundreds of articles in print and received numerous awards.
