Description
The Annex is a ±3,534 square foot building on the CLARA campus which originally served as the school’s cafeteria and most recently was used as a community event space and catering kitchen. It includes an event space of ±2,430 square feet, with ±1,000 square feet for food preparation and storage. The Annex is detached from the main building, with an independent electric meter and gas lines. There is also an outdoor space between the main building and Annex of ±2,400 square feet which could be included in the leasing agreement and programmed for outdoor use.
Studios for the Performing Arts Operating Company seeks to lease the building to a community organization who will activate the building and generate benefits for the property at large. These benefits can be a mix of financial and community-oriented.
CLARA (also known as the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts) is a decommissioned school which now serves as an arts and culture campus. The property is located on the corner of 24th Street and N Street in Midtown Sacramento. The master tenant of the building, Studios for the Performing Arts Operating Company (SOC), leases the building to local cultural groups including Sacramento Ballet, Capital Stage and the Alliance Francaise, providing these organizations with administrative and classroom/rehearsal space situated in a dynamic and creative community with a lot of overlap in clientele, business operations and other opportunities for collaboration. Seasons Coffee is also a tenant of the main building.
