Don has twenty-nine years of creative real estate brokerage and auction experience as an active independent licensed auctioneer and real estate broker in Kentucky and Indiana. His client list includes numerous financial institutions, state and federal courts, legal counselors, corporations, REITS, municipalities, school boards, other government entities, consultants and individuals. His practice specializes in the sale of unique real estate, surplus corporate real estate, liquidations, foreclosures, portfolio sales and other situations requiring accelerated and intensive real estate marketing and transaction structuring. His primary expertise is developing and implementing programs to solve financial problems and achieve desired goals for his clients in the sale of challenging commercial and residential real estate throughout Kentucky, Indiana as well as a number of other states across the country. He has served as the secretary/treasurer and a director of the Kentucky Auctioneers Association, president of the Kentucky Real Estate Exchangors, governor of the Auction Marketing Institute, founding member of Sperry Van Ness Auction Services, secretary of the Sperry Van Ness Asset Recovery Team, and member of the legislative committee of the National Auctioneers Association. He has won numerous marketing and bid calling awards from several state Auctioneers Associations. Don has earned the prestigious CAI (Certified Auctioneers Institute) and AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate) designation from the Auction Marketing Institute of the National Auctioneers Association and has served as an instructor for many state continuing education and national designation programs. Throughout his career, Don has been awarded numerous achievement awards including the Exchangor of the Year Award from the Kentucky Real Estate Exchangors. During his tenure as a Senior Advisor with Sperry Van Ness was awarded the Partner Circle Award in 2010, and the Achiever Award in 2004, 2007, 2011 & 2012. While with RE/MAX-Commercial he was inducted into the RE/MAX hall of fame, he was also the Top Commercial Agent for RE/MAX Kentucky & Tennessee in both 1994 and 2001. He was also a member of the RE/MAX Platinum Club for two years and a member of the RE/MAX 100% club for ten years. Don's education and professional experience bring substantial value to his clients and customers. He has degrees in economics, law, real estate and auctioneering, with 47 years of hands-on experience in public, private and governmental accounting, corporate law practice, national sales, and real estate and personal property brokerage. As an avid philanthropist, Don takes great pride in his numerous charitable fund-raising activities for the Children’s Miracle Network, Louisville Zoo, Jaycees, Red Cross, Cedar Lake Lodge, March of Dimes, Executive Women International, Mercy Academy, The Fuller Center for Housing, local churches, school systems and many other organizations. Don recently served as the Chairman of the Board of the Fuller Center for Housing of Louisville and a Trustee on the FCH’s International Board.
