Alan Fischer founded Fischer Real Estate in 1976 and has served as its President since that time. FRE specializes in helping the owners and users of commercial, industrial, office and investment properties throughout Fairfield and New Haven Counties make informed decisions on buying, selling or leasing their real estate. Alan holds two of commercial real estate’s most coveted professional designations, CCIM and SIOR, which are nationally recognized as emblematic of reaching the highest levels of professional competency and ethical standards within the commercial real estate field. Alan is also a member of the Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association of Metropolitan New York (IOREBA), the Real Estate Advisory Board of the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), a past President of the Connecticut Chapter of the CCIM Institute and a former member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Alan is a former Vice-Chairman of the Stratford Board of Education, which he served for 7 years, a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Boys' and Girls' Clubs of Bridgeport, which he served for 10 years and former President of the Orange Economic Development Corporation, which he served for 19 years. Alan graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1972 with a BS in education and in 1973 he received his MS in education, also from UB. While at UB, he was a three-year starter on the Purple Knights basketball team, serving as team Captain his senior year.
